Gulshan Grover (born 21 September 1955) is an Indian actor who has appeared in over 400 films through a career spanning over 30 years. Due to his villain roles he has earned the sobriquet "Badman". [1]
Grover is one of the first Indian actors to have made a successful transition from Bollywood into Hollywood and international cinema.
When he was a child, he lived in the small town of Tri Nagar in Delhi.
Career
Gulshan Grover has acted in over 400 films through a career spanning over 30 years. He is versatile professional with a passion for his chosen craft and has acted in many of India’s top blockbusters that has brought him accolades, awards and an unparalleled fan following. Grover is a prominent figure in the Indian film community and known to be among actors who lend their support to social and noble causes.
He is also a producer and an entrepreneur.
He won the Best Actor International on 18 August 2011 at the New York City Film Festival for his performance as the Indian holy man Dada Bhagwan in the film Desperate Endeavors. He won the Best Actor award on 24 September 2011 for the same role at the Houston Film Festival. His recent film I Am Kalam earned him a nomination for National Film Awards of India as Best Supporting Actor.
His personal commitment to give back to people and society through social causes has led to him being known as “The entertainer for a good cause”.[citation needed]
Grover was the Grand Marshall at the Los Angeles Parade to celebrate India's Independence Day (in 2008 and 2009). He was the Co-Grand Marshall at the New York Parade (2011).
Grover was present at the 2011 Indian Grand Prix, a Formula One motor race.
